Initial Elite fields announced for the 10th Sir Walter Miler!
Plus the last week of le tour de walter
Can you feel it?
We’re oh so close to the 10th Sir Walter Miler! Yes, 10 years of fast miles right here in Raleigh, North Carolina. This race is about us: the capital city running community. Race day details and more are here (bookmark this page)!
If you didn’t see, the initial elite fields were announced Friday. Click here to read the press release and see who you know! We have some familiar faces, and a bunch of new athletes coming to Raleigh this year. We’ll be introducing them to you this week in typical fashion. Make sure and follow along at the Sir Walter Miler social media accounts! @SirWalterMiler on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook.
And how about the fun new logo for this year? Anna Luking did an incredible job and go pick up some cool new merch with it on there: sirwalterrunning.square.site (we also just restocked some “Umstead Makes Champions” shirts for $25 each)!
It’s also the last week of the Tour de Walter! We’ve had a fun season of short routes and this week's segment will launch Monday and will be another fun (and approachable) one. Complete them all for a special edition maillot jaune koozie!
Lastly, are you part of a local run club? Make sure and sign up for the Run Club 4x400 by Tuesday to guarantee your name on your bib. Same goes for the Coaches Clash, where the Men’s and Women’s winners will get a SUUNTO watch!
