And the Summer of Miles podcast is back, as well. Sandy and Pat recapped the Pop Up Miles season and previewed what’s to come this summer. Subscribe wherever you listen to podcasts.
If you were at the Sir Walter Qualifier, you saw we had a medical emergency with one of the athletes. We are happy to report that he is doing much better and we are thankful for everyone that helped with the situation. He’s very grateful too!
Congratulations to Lauren Berman and Dan Schaffer on their wins. Both will compete in the elite fields at the 10th Sir Walter Miler, which will Friday, August 4th at Meredith College!
Speaking of the Miler! We are excited to start filling out the field! This week is the USATF Outdoor Track & Field Championship and after this weekend, our elite fields for 2023 should start firming up. We can’t wait to share them with you!
A few things of note that have been updated in past few days…
The Tour de Walter is back! The first segment (of four) is now live: the Alleghany 1000. Head out and run the short and sweet rolling loop between now and Saturday night for a chance to win a Sir Walter Miler shirt and a chance at VIP entry to the Sir Walter Miler. All the details are here.
