Runners,
We’re already halfway through the Pop Up Miles season and dare we say the best yet? 12 years in and they continue to grow. Quick shoutout to all the Dads out there on Father’s Day! Whose dad introduced them to running?
It was great having Woody Kincaid and Katie Rainsberger in attendance last week. Woody took the win in the 1500m this weekend at the Adrian Martinez Classic, so maybe we rubbed off on him?!?
This week we’ll have another 2-time Olympian joining us, Kim Conley! Kim plans to hang out and run the mile, so come get inspired! Speaking of… Kim and her husband Drew Wartenburg have an amazing coaching service called Next Best Run. Want to get better? Check that out. Kim and Drew are great people with real results!
Wondering who may run the 2025 Sir Walter Miler locally? See below! 2 weeks left to qualify before the final at Meredith on Friday, June 27th. This is the last week we’ll update the standings, then anyone who beats the 10th best time in week 4 makes it. No one gets bumped!

So what’s happening this week?
The track opens around 6pm. It’s at Williams Stadium, near the Lake Johnson Pool. It’s not at the odd shaped track at Athens Drive High. Point your GPS to 5623 Jaguar Park Dr, Raleigh, NC 27606 and it will get you pretty close.
There are 2 heats of the mile. One for those predicting to run over 5:30. And one under.
We’ll have a 5k after, then we’ll wrap up with a 4x400 relay. We bring the batons, you bring a team or make one on the spot.
Here’s the full schedule:
